CHECK DRINKING WATER QUALITY AT YOUR HOME:

Drinking water quality has became a very big issue in 21st century in INDIA. Recently during Delhi assembly election The India Today group expose the quality of drinking water available in the Capital of India, New Delhi. In future quality of drinking water is going to be in a very dangerous condition all over India.

TDS METER:

TDS meter is a digital tool to check quality of water. TDS means total dissolved solid. The Permissible value of TDS for drinking water is 200-500 ppm as per WHO. WHO advice to drink water with TDS value 300 ppm.

HOW TO CHECK DRINKING WATER QUALITY WITH TDS METER:

TDS digital meter has three button hold, temperature, on/off.

Following steps are to measure drinking water quality.

1. First switch on the TDS meter.
2. Take a glass of drinking water.
3. Deep the sensor part of the TDS meter for about 30 sec.
4. Then press the hold button.
5. Now see the value given in the display. This is the TDS value of the water.
6. Now press the temperature button.
7. Deep the TDS meter sensory portion in the water for 30 sec.
8. See the value in the display.

If you want to compare two different water sample then you must clean the TDS meter sensor part after analyzing one water sample.

FIND DRINKING WATER QUALITY:

Now compare the value given in the TDS meter with WHO recommended TDS value of drinking Water.

TDS VALUE OF DIFFERENT WATER QUALITY

Below 50 ppm-    Strictly advised not to drink

50-100 ppm-        Can drink

100-250 ppm-      Good quality

250-400 ppm-      Best quality drinking water

400-500 ppm-      Very good quality drinking water

500-1000 ppm-    Harmful for health

1000-2000 ppm-  Strictly advised not drink this water.

300 ppm-        WHO recommended best quality drinking water
